Concetta Sultan and co-author and cousin, Caterina Di Franco are passionate about good food and their cookbook 'Cugini in Cucina' ('Cousins in the Kitchen') explores Italian culture and passion for peasant style Sicilian food. The recipes are easy to follow and incorporate fresh seasonal ingredients that create wonderful Italian dishes full of flavour. Included in the Cugini in Cucina cookbook is their family history following their family from their Sicilian homeland in the 1950s to the shores of Western Australia. This is a cookbook with a difference with beautiful snippets of Sicilian family life from their arrival into Perth and up to the present day. It is a celebration of lives filled with the beautiful culture of Sicily and dedicated to Sicilian traditions, history and their affinity to all things food and family.
Please join us to hear Concetta speak about the Cugini in Cucina cookbook, her personal venture into another food business and family history. You will be tempted by the recipes as well as some tastings of food that Concetta will have prepared for us to sample.
