Albany Public Library has been selected to host a national health initiative that displays the past, present and future of orthopaedics - one of Australia’s most successful and popular branches of medicine.
The travelling exhibition celebrates the contribution of orthopaedic surgery to the health and well-being of the hundreds of local Albany residents who rely on it every year.
The interactive display showcases 80 years of orthopaedics in Australia and can be viewed up until the 21st September at the Library.
The exhibition includes information on sports injury prevention, the evolution of joint replacement, developments in the treatment of fractures and innovations including the use of 3D printing, robotics, computer navigation and customising implants during surgery.
