Writing Workshop with VAC Writer in Residence - Rosemary Argue

Rosemary is an emerging author and writer of Australian historical fiction, both short stories and novels. Her work often develops out of the places she visits. She is also curious about the natural environment and weaves it into her stories.

Although born in Australia, Rosemary's first language is German, and she was sent off to Kindergarten at age four to learn English. This meant she grew up with a foot in two cultures which has given her a different perspective of the world: that the most obvious view is not the only one. She is driven to give voice to the less obvious, whether that is from a non-east coast perspective, a cultural minority or some ‘other’ perspective.

Each workshop session will focus on a different aspect of writing a short story or novel – Beginning writing, creating characters and plot. Participants will need to attend all 3 sessions.
