Albany Public Library is launching a new collection of books during its Dying to Know Day events in August 2023.

The Compassionate Communities collection was purchased with grant funding from the LBW Trust, as part of their Friends of Libraries Australia program,  and aims to provide the community with useful resources around death and bereavement.

The collection of books has been specially selected to promote compassion and to help people of all ages deal with palliative care, death and bereavement.

By starting these difficult conversations earlier it can make the process easier when dealing with peoples care, support and grief.

Dying to Know Day events include a documentary screening of Live the Life You Please, an Advanced Care Planning Workshop and a Death Café meet-up.

Check out the collection here.
