Baguettes & Bicycles

Past Event

Join author Steven Herrick for an evening of cycling tales and learn everything you need to know about cycle touring in Europe and Asia.

Steven spends an enviable proportion of his life touring exotic countries with his wife Cathie and their two hardy bicycles. Steven's cycling books are part bicycle adventure, part culinary safari. They are essentially handbooks for those who enjoy slow food, grassroots travel, and long-distance cycling.

He is the author of twenty-four books for children and young adults and nine cycling travel books. His books have twice won the NSW Premier's Literary Award and been shortlisted for CBCA Book of the Year on nine occasions.

Steven's talk will cover everything you need to know about cycle touring in Europe and Asia - the best countries for cycling, where to eat and sleep, the most scenic cycle routes in each country, how to pack and transport bicycles, and best of all - what to do when you see three Renault Kangaroos parked outside a restaurant in Europe!
