Whether it’s community events, sustainable initiatives, new infrastructure or ways to develop our community, the City of Albany is encouraging residents to have their say on the future of their city.
Work to develop the Strategic Community Plan 2032 has commenced which will communicate the community’s vision for the coming ten years and guide principal community projects.
Gaining valuable community input is key for the Strategic Community Plan 2032 in order to ensure it is reflective of local priorities and values that aim to improve quality of life now and into the future.
A number of community engagement initiatives are being rolled out, the first of which is a Community Scorecard survey that will ask a representative sample of residents to rate local services and facilities.
The City are working with independent research consultant, Catalyse, to send out the Community Scorecard survey via email and letterbox delivery to track performance against community priorities.
Following the survey, workshops and pop up events will be rolled out, that drill down into the priorities that have emerged from the Community Scorecard.
Chief Executive Officer Andrew Sharpe said the Community Scorecard survey provides the City with an opportunity to check-in with residents.
“The Community Scorecard is benchmarked across all local governments and allows us to make sure the services we provide our community are suitable and meet expectations,” he said.
“The scorecard also guides our Strategic Community Plan 2032 and shows the areas where we can improve, grow and be innovative with the services we offer.
“This is an exciting opportunity for residents to get involved, let us know what they would like to see in Albany and understand what is in the pipeline for the future of our vibrant city.”
Residents are encouraged to keep an eye out for the Community Scorecard survey in their email and letterbox if they are one of the individuals in Catalyse’s representative sample.
However, any local residents can have their say in the Strategic Community Plan 2032 by clicking here to take the Community Scorecard survey until the 26th of March.
