Hearing Loss - Prevention, signs, diagnosis and treatment

Tuesday 29th April 2025

HEARING LOSS DOESN'T JUST AFFECT SPEECH CLARITY AND IT DOESN'T JUST AFFECT US INDIVIDUALLY.

Numerous aspects of our health are impacted by hearing loss, including balance, mental health and even

an increased risk of dementia. Relationships are also impacted by the stress on communication and the change in roles and dependency.

Clare Collins has a degree in Speech and Hearing Science and has worked as the regional speech therapist in the Gascoyne  and later in Europe and the US with the Australian Cochlear Implant Company, COCHLEAR.  She will be giving a free educational talk all about how hearing works at the Albany library on Tuesday April 29th at 10am

For those who are interested, she can also offer free hearing screening and video otoscopy following the talk. Interested people will need to book into these checks separately.
